Interesting stuff.

We too are now showing errors with Firefox 1.5.0.1. It's too bad you didn't leave your name, We'd have loved to provide you with some free swag for uncovering this error for us. Next time please feel free to step forward without impunity.

To answer your un-asked question it looks to be errors with the padding just as we described in this article.

Thank you again for bringing this to our attention.

Hi, I found your page from www.kwantumwellness.com. I was visiting that site today using my Mac and could *not* get it to work! Safari wouldn't load it properly, Internet Explorer on Mac wouldn't load it properly (it's different than IE on the Windows platform), and FireFox wouldn't load it properly. The only reason I kept trying is because I was curious how a website could be designed like this, I've never seen such an incompatible website. I then tried it on my Windows computer using FireFox to no avail, and only after using Internet Explorer was I able to view it properly. Without getting into a discussion regarding which browser is better, or which computer manufacturer is better, I think it is in poor practice to ignore the issue of browser compatability all together, and especially to present FireFox, etc. users with a 403 message when going to one of your incompatible websites. I think the solution lies in the designer learning the differences between how the browsers render the HTML code and using that education to create more compatible websites. In addition, I think you will find that your clients will be happier knowing that > 20% of their website visitors (FireFox, Safari, etc. all combined) aren't being turned away because their corporate website doesn't load properly. Just some food for thought. [Sorry I didn't provide my name & email address, but I would prefer to leave my comment as just that...a comment]

Good article, though some more info on the hosts file and what it does would be good for the newb..

In brief, *any* website domain that you find distasteful can be blocked via the hosts file, which is the first port of call when your system attempts to resolve an address. The 127.0.0.1 address is called a loopback address, as it refers to your own system.

And on the subject of spying.. sa.microsoft.com is Microsoft's search engine hookup (sa=search assistant) that sends M$ the search string for everything you type into the windows file finder. If you only block one host in your hosts file, let it be sa.microsoft.com !

Particular trojan horse mentioned is nowt to do with microsoft. its actually called hacker defender, and was inadvertently downloaded while looking for antispy software to stop microsoft from accessing my system. There is a very complicated way to get rid of it, but an easier way is to back up to disc, and re-install windows.
